Slightly trickier than usual for you Skirwingle, but also nicely done as usual. I particularly enjoyed 10A, 16A, 23A, 25A (LOL at the surface once solved), 4D ( deserves a slap!) And 18D which for some reason was the most satisfying to solve for me.

Thanks Skirwingle. Nice puzzle. I'd nominate 4a, 10a, 25a, 1d (lol), 4d (groan and perhaps a 'perhaps' needed?), 7d, 8d, 13d and 22d as all deserving applause. Something I didn't understand - with spoiler - in Reply.

Thanks for the puzzle Skirwingle, you set some wonderful clues and even as a rookie solver that was approachable, appreciably challenging and satisfying throughout. Favourite clues were 10a, 11a, 14a, 23a, 25a, 1d, 3d, 4d, 6d, 7d, 17d (favourite surface, fun) and 18d

I enjoyed this, Skirwingle - not too difficult, and the obscure(r) words were fairly and obviously clued. Thought we were dealing with a double (or even triple!) pangram at first, but alas not. Solid stuff!
