A very nice puzzle to wake me up this morning, thoroughly enjoyable smooth ride all the way through. Favourites 10a, 22a, 20d and 23d. Thanks!

Lovely stuff. 7D is brilliant. Spoiler in reply

Enjoyable puzzle, 27A, 19A, 14D were all nicely done, and I always like a good number clue like 7D.

Thanks for that Angel, a lovely puzzle! I found lots of your clues inspiring for my own setting and you demo a great variety of enviable wordplay and trickery! I particularly liked 11a (I was attempting to clue this word last night as part of setting practice - yours is far nicer!), 18a, 19a, 26a, 28a, 7d (wonderful), 8d, 14d, 16d, 17d, and 25d

Very nice :-)

Thanks Angel very nicely done and a lovely theme. I really liked 9A, 11A, 7D, 14D and 20D.

Nicely done and neat incorporation of the theme hinted at in Special Instructions. 12a, 22a, 24a, 5d, 6d, 7d, 8d all worth highlighting but they are just particular standouts in an all over good puzzle. Thanks Angel. SPOILER IN REPLY.

Really enjoyable, thank you :) A lovely tribute.

A lovely puzzle, Angel - very precise clueing, not over-complex, but not necessarily easy and all with a sense of fun. Really enjoyable. Spoiler in reply…

Lovely stuff, thanks Angel. Great surfaces and precise wordplay. Amongst a strong field, I'll pick out 5a, 17d and 23d as particular favourites.

Finally got round to doing this. Absolutely lovely, with great surfaces. 5a, 17d had great penny-drop moments. 29a, 16d, 5d were other favourites. All excellent.

Very nice. Thank you. Particular favourites were 24a 29a 7d 14d and 23d

Catching up on top-rated puzzles, I found this one near the top of the list; and it deserves to be. Beautifully constructed, with too many favourites to list them individually. Though of course 17d is now a historical document.
