Thanks, Zorro, for me that was right in my comfort zone with enough chewier ones for a bit of a challenge. My favourites included 9a, 11a, 15a, 23a (COTD), 3d and 4d(!). Cheers!

Thanks Zorro for picking up where you left off and giving us another fine puzzle. Thumbs up for 13a, 15a, 25a, 26a (superb!) 1d and 18d. 10d beat me, partly being unfamiliar with that term for the social event and also not finding your intention in ‘ban’. Just about ok with ‘what’s cooking’ in 9a though ‘something cooking’ maybe easier. And was 24d rather same sidey, with the same root word in def and answer? Cheers.
