Cryptic crossword No 41

Thanks Laguna! It took me a while to get into it but once I had some connecting letters it all started falling into place. The last clue in was 20d and I spent an embarrassingly long time staring at it before the penny dropped! 11a, 25a and 14d were my favourites. SPOILERS...

I did attempt a theme this time, so hopefully someone will spot it!

Thanks Laguna, some very good clues here - although the 'surly bartender' in 8d may not be known to all - nor the tuneful individuals in 18a. I think a bit of GK (General Knowledge) in a puzzle is, like 18a, "OK" - but don't overdo it! Liked 3d and 24a (cont.d - SPOILER)...

Thanks Laguna! Impressed and full of admiration for many of these clues. 14D is wonderful of course - well done! I’d also pick out 25A and 12D. I love the surface of 5D, though wasn’t sure about the undefined lengths of beginnings/endings. There’s a similar thing going on
