I enjoyed this. A very smooth rom. Some of the surfaces are a tad nonsensical, and there's a couple of pieces I would argue are extraneous such as "text" in 23a. I think this is the first puzzle of yours I've solved, so I'll definitely keep an eye out for more :)

Thanks NBW, I enjoyed this. Having solved the northern hemisphere I suddenly ‘saw’ 14a- and it was right, which made me happy. Possibly if I’d already solved a particular clue in the south I might have been more hesitant… Given the time limitations I reckon this is a great achievement, with my standout clues being 8a, 9a, 24a, 6d and 20d. I knew the PM but not his sideline- hopefully he’ll continue to run the show whatever pressures from the south. Cheers!
