Hi Lumberman, welcome! First of yours I've tried. It shows lots of ambition and imagination. There are also some rough edges. A couple of particular thoughts. First, there are too many anagrams (I had about nine in my debut puzzle and was advised that ordinarily it shouldn't be more than about five). Second, the best clues will tell a (very short!) story - some of these don't hang together very well for me. Hope that's some help - will look out for more from you in future!

Hi Lumberman, good to see you still busy in the forest! I thought 7a, 23a, 5d, 9d and 16d were standout clues, with a number of the other anagrams being very good too- problem for me was, too many of them! The generally accepted anagram count (with partial anagrams counting as 1/2) is 3 to 5. No indirect ones this time though 😄 You’ve chosen a grid with several long lights, which anagrams tend to suit better than other clue types, so maybe a different kind of grid worth trying? Apart from this
