Thanks and welcome to MyCrossword Burrows! A very promising debut, I’d say, with some fine clues, including 7a, 17a, 28a (very clever, but you need to amend your annotation), 5d, 8d (maybe ‘of‘ in place of ‘revealed by’ would be even smoother…) and 23d. Overall you have a good sense of how it all works but there’s always more to learn, and MyC is a great place for this if you check out other setters’ puzzles and feedback as well a your own. Here’s my own contribution to that end…

Fun puzzle, thanks for sharing. I particular liked 5d and, although I didn't know the word, 28a. There are a few small issues, I think. Spoilers in reply.

Thanks Burrows for an impressive debut. I ticked 7a, 16a, 25a, 26a, 23d, and 26d as favourites. I did, however, need to reveal 17a, 28a, and 18d. If you haven't read The Chambers Crossword Manual by Don Manley (Pasquale) I recommend it highly.
