Cryptic crossword No 3,599

Chanced upon this over breakfast and happy to not be late to the party for once. Mostly gentle, as ever enjoyable. Particularly appreciated 12a, 21a, 8d, 16d, among others. Nina was fun and helped a little toward the end. No nitpicking today, will leave that to the experts…

Great stuff, Gennaro - a fun solve - and the rate at which you produce these high-quality puzzles with such intricate features in the grid is quite astounding. I enjoy the images your clues conjure up and, today, I particularly liked 9a, 13a, 23a, 24a, 3d, 5d, 8d, and 19d.

Struggled to get going with this one as 5a was a NHO and 5d was a bit tricky (though nicely constructed). Got a few easier ones, and the Nina helped, then it was fairly plain sailing. My favourites are all downs... 2d, 7d, 14d, 16d, 20d, thanks Gennaro. Question in reply...
