Special Instructions: All but two clues are alliterative, each using a different letter. As a result, severe liberties have been taken in definitions and wordplay, so a little imagination is required/leeway requested. Apologies for the unfriendly grid, but I have an 'unch that some help may appear. *** Edit: The last name in 27a has been corrected. Thank you, Hox!

Big thanks to Henri for being brave enough to test this and provide some useful feedback!

I enjoyed this but think Booker in 27a is missing a letter

A bunch of these I never would've gotten without help, but a brilliant conceit and well-executed!

(Given all the meta caveats...) This was a lot of fun. Worthy of 1Across or Unch, or a Feature here. Well played!

What an endeavour! Quarter way through and just now read ‘each using a different letter’. Am using google a lot, wordplays also. Learning many new words/phrases. New sign up to site to comment. Will have paranoia if I end up failing 😉.

Hi Pat! Finally got around to tackling this one. I won't pretend I finished it unaided. The concept is excellent and every clue fair, but there are some gaps in my vocabulary that, combined with the theme, made some of these impossible for me to sink my teeth into. I don't envy how difficult this must have been set, but I reckon it would also have been lots of fun. 25a my favourite definition by a mile.
