Cryptic crossword No 35

Thanks Bairbre, a nice crossword - not too easy, not too hard! Favourite clues were 22, 17a, 7d and 3d. I guessed 8a from the definition but I can't quite see how it fits the wordplay.

Good work Bairbre - thanks - quite tough in places as abw says. Best I think are 17a, 13d and 18d. Some surfaces could be improved.

Thanks Bairbre. Lots to like here - each puzzle you do is better than the last, I reckon. A lot more of the surfaces read well to me. I really like 17A. 23A and 21D also worthy of mention.

I'm not entirely convinced by PUTTER HEAD, but this was an enjoyable crossword, with some neat surfaces and some ingenious clues; probably 26A and 13D my personal favourites. Unlike abw I wasn't troubled by 8A. Thanks, Bairbre.

Some really nice clues - thanks Bairbre! My favourites were 17a, 13d and 21d. I also quite liked 23a! I thought you missed an opportunity to make more of the surface in 11a, maybe by getting the bishop into trouble? Looking forward to the next one.
