Cryptic crossword No 34

Brief note: this is my first completed puzzle for nearly 6 months, so expect a few rough edges! There is a ghost theme, though not everyone will spot it (the picture offers a *very* veiled hint!). Have fun - remember I tend to do toughies!

Thanks very much Laccaria. Really excellent crossword. Disagree with both your comments. It was neither rough at the edges nor overly difficult. Lots of well crafted and varied clues. Especially liked 15 across!

Thanks Laccaria. I enjoyed this, and feel the difficulty level is about right. There are some very elegant clues here, I think, including 10A, 18A and 17D. My favourite, though, is 3D. I can’t spot a theme! I’ll try to work it out again tomorrow...

Very slight quibble - should the marks in 1D be singular? But apart from that, a tough (in parts) but fair and well-constructed crossword. Particularly liked 15A and 17D; and (unsurprisingly given my former job!) quite liked 13A as well.

I enjoyed this! At the very edge of my ability, I couldn't finish unaided, but I love the theme!
