Hi Sisyphus, this was another great effort with some lovely words thrown up by your theme. Among my favourites were 1a, 17a, 21a, 27a, 4d (it always takes me longer than it should to remember about that army thing in crosswords but it makes me smile every time), 6d and 7d.

Hi Sisyphus, lots to like as usual but I also agree with Orinoco that there were a few slips that took the edge off things this time. Favourites were 17a, 20a, 7d and 14d. Cheers!

Thanks Sisyphus. On your last crossword I wrote, 'One of these days I'll be able to complete one of your puzzles'; well 'one of these days' happened finally. 😄 I wasn't able to fully parse 1a and 3d but the solutions were easy enough to intuit. I enjoyed this and thought the theme was creative. Favourites included 9a, 20a, 25a, 26a, 16d, and 19d.

Hi Sisyphus. Life has been awfully inconsiderate of my crossword time recently so I'm catching up on puzzles I missed. This one defeated me but it was fun nonetheless. I struggled with the RHS being unable to get 10d (a fine clue, just me being dense). I am a mediocre solver so I wouldn't read anything into that. My hat tips go to 7d, 18d and 17a
