Cryptic crossword No 3,172

Thanks, Baz, I enjoyed this. My favourites included 1d, 7a (brilliant homophone) 25a, 27a. Good misdirection in 18d - I had the "board vessel" as the beginning/ending SS and couldn't account for the B!

I liked 7a for the homophone indicator. 9a and 14a were nicely constructed. 1d provided a nice penny drop moment.
