Thanks for this, and congrats on a great debut! 4d the last one in but also my favourite, very neat. If you're open to feedback, I'd encourage you to rethink your use of 'hermaphrodite' in 20a, as it doesn't really mean the same thing as the answer, and is generally considered an offensive term by people in that group.

Great debut! Much more pleasure than pain in it for me: the clues all ‘worked,’ I thought (which may be challenged by others!) with a nice variety of devices (albeit perhaps a tad anagram heavy.) Not all the surfaces (eg 14d) came across as quite ‘convincing,’ but mostly I liked their whimsy. Personal faves: 8a, 11a, 5d (great word!), 7d, 17d. Looking forward to your next one!
