Not a lot of 1a in this 27a so far as I can tell but we'll wait for 8d et al to provide 22d :) Favs for me were 9a, 2d and 18d.

A very kind tribute Sisyphus, thanks! Much more difficult than your last puzzle, involving a few wiggles of the eyebrows, but maybe we should give you a free pass this time in the circumstances. (Let me know if you do want the technical feedback). Favourites: 11a, 19a (obvs), 21a, 24a and 2d.

Thanks Sisyphus for the generous tribute puzzle. I found this on the difficult side, revealed 1a and 12d, and used the 'check button' more often than I like. I did enjoy clues like 23a, 24a, 7d, and 16d as well as your penchant to take risks. However, I do concur with the feedback you received from Coot and Fez. Dictionaries are our friends and OneLook.com is great for word finding. Keep at it.
