Hi Kempley, a pleasure to return the visit! I really enjoyed your crossword- I found it not too challenging but engaging and well-turned. My hat-tips go to 12a, 14a, 21a for its elegant simplicity and 1d for the same reason; 2d/10a for its wordplay more than its surface; 6d for misdirecting me (I got first FLEA then LEAF from the wp but couldn’t see how either defined tree: TREE COVERING was hidden in plain sight in my case!) And 15d for holding me up with your synonym for coat. Thanks!
