Good things come to those who wait, eh, Henri? Some conniving with Guinevere I suspect ... A fun concept and a breeze to solve. Faves inc 12a, 14a, 27a, 4d, 7d and 19d. Thanks. PM
This was entertaining and accessible enough to complete before getting out of bed. Iโll be back after coffee with compliments. Happy New Year, Henri!
Very nicely done Henri! Not quite the breeze for me that others seem to have found it; took quite a while for the penny to drop. Particularly liked the way you exploited the clues with omitted WP letters. Other faves: 10a, 27a, 7d and 22d. HNY!
Thanks Henri that was great fun. A nice generous starter of 1a28a but some tougher clues to keep it interesting. Favourites were 10a, 12a, 15d, 16d (I enjoyed "Modern art" a lot ๐) and 27d (hands free, nice).
Thanks Henri for a fitting tribute in acknowledgement of #3000. (How did you know that no one else was waiting for this slot? ๐๐๐) I found this very approachable & enjoyed clues such as 12a, 14a, 18a, 27a, 7d, & 22d. Happy '26!
What fun and of course it had to be you to mark it! I'm with Coot in that it took a stupidly long time to see the obvious! Aside from the lovely thematic clues, I also really liked 9a, 2d,5d,6d,23d,26d
Coming a bit late to finish this one up. I had an immediate idea of the gimmick, which helped. As I took a couple of interrupted sittings, I don't have much to say on favourites, except that the thematic omissions were very neat.
