Cryptic crossword No 295

This was fun. As Ozpiper says, fairly accessible and I agree the bottom half/third provided more challenge than the earlier clues where I encountered quite a few anagrams. I certainly smiled at 23a and, unlike the aforementioned, gave a tick to 27a for both surface and definition. Spoilers in Reply.

Nice grid; as others have said, a gentle Monday AM grid. Enjoyed the finds in 25a & 19d, also fond of 24d and the revised 14d. Spoilers in reply.
