Enjoyed this as I saw the theme and am a great fan - was waiting for the pigeon clue but it never arrived! Caught out by single in 12a as I always thought an EP was longer than the two songs on the old 7" so needed the annotation to fully parse that. Some very clever anagrams and a wonderful tribute - very impressed. Thank you.

Another theme I failed to spot, although I had heard the news - I see how well done it was from your annotations. Faves include 10a,12a,22a and 1d,3d (COTD for me) ,5d,6d.

Thanks Skirwingle, very nice. I had no hope with the theme but good work on getting so much in there! Favourite clues were 7a, 20a (in spite of myself 😁), 22a, 4d and 19d (very smooth).
