I must acknowledge that I had two excellent test solvers, Widdersbel of this parish, and Gaufrid of 225 fame. Also guidance and feedback from Raider and Boatman. Many thanks to you all for your time aad patience it was and is very much appreciated. Further thanks are due to Raider for technical support with importing the grid. Any errors, mistakes, or blunders are solely down to me

Great to see this one out in the wild - well done!

Thanks Blah I very much enjoyed solving this. I found it tricky with a couple unparsed (2d, 15d) but all fell in in the end. I also learned some things along the way (Galvini, Lambert Island, a word meaning dry) which is always fun. Favourite clues were 10a, 11a, 5d and 7d.

A great puzzle with some lovely smooth surfaces and very clever ideas throughout. My favourite clues were 29a, 11a, 12a, 21a, 18d & 4d.

Thanks Blah - a fun and interesting puzzle. Great idea to re-use a complete grid with brand new clues but a nod to the original. I struggled with some of the GK but enjoyed the challenge. Favourites were generally the simpler clues: 9A, 14A, 17A, 5D and 16D.

An impressive piece of work, my favourites being 12a, 13a, 29a, 4d, 15d, and especially 25d. Though in 13d surely it should be "principal". I had my doubts about 22a, 5d and 18d, but the explanations made it clear that I hadn't appreciated how clever they were; and I didn't get 10a, 2d and 7d but again, the explanations made complete sense. Thanks, Blah. [NON-CRITICAL SPOILERS IN REPLY]

Thank you Gollum for spotting my error in using principle instead of principal, I'd try and style it out claiming homophone, if I could only get away with it :-)

Found this quite tricky but good fun and some lovely, neat clues in it. I really liked 29a and the definition for 1d. Thanks!

Thanks for this Blah. To echo Coot, I tended to enjoy the simpler clues most. My favourites are 9a, 14a, and 29a (I think it does need the indicator).

After all our recent interactions, I thought it only fair to follow the link from 15x15 to this puzzle - though you did say you'ved moved on a long way from here. Neat idea to use an existing grid - I have found populating the grid far harder than clueing the solutions. Despite your modesty, this was a great start. Strong likes for 10a, 21a, 29a, 4d (lol), 7d, 22d, 24d. And a nice range of devices across the puzzle.

Thanks to Komorník for pointing out that it was Galvani who experimented with bioelectrics not Galvini.

Very late to the party, but this was delightfully set, thanks for the challenge Blah! I've only briefly looked at the source puzzle yet though it's on the list to solve, but thought 23d as an homage as you describe was very neat, and one of my favourite uses of clue numbers to date. 18d stood out as particularly clever and an absolute pleasure of a penny drop. I was thrown, stumped and held up by most of your hiddens and acrostics as well which is an impressive feat, with 10a & 4d standing out -
