Additional trivia: two symmetrically positioned down clues are thematic, although I would be amazed if that actually helped anyone... 😂 By the way, you do NOT need any thematic knowledge to complete the puzzle, it’s just an extra layer on top for the easily amused *points to self*

Had heard of the song and remembered the artists name, but didn't know any of the the lyrics (I was only 3 at the time). Can confirm that no knowledge was required, but what I did know gave me one letter that helped. An entertaining solve.

Thanks Henri, beautifully done! I especially liked the appropriately positioned clue (which I shall not identify), and the symmetricals, along with 8a, 18a, 20a, 20d and 28d.

Thanks for another brilliant crossword, Henri - you really are churning these out at an alarmingly impressive rate! The run of clues from 1d to 5d was superb, with 6a not far behind! An amusing note on the theme below…

Another banger! Didn't spot the theme, although I do recall the song now. My faves included 10a, 17a (a perfect clue imo), 30a, 1d, 3d, 6d (NHO but eminently solvable) 9d, 16d,28d . Thanks as ever, Henri!

Well, I'd never heard of the song, but it was a fun solve! Liked 20d, 28d, 5d, 21a, 14a, and 25d! Thanks Henri

Thanks Henri for an expertly crafted crossword. For once I spotted the theme & I saw the pop lyrics in the grid. I remember the song & artists well but not the album itself. Good clues all around like 30a, 5d 16d, and my COTD 20d.

Apologies for being late. Nice puzzle. Beaten by 21 at the end, knowing the island by its British (I guess) moniker. But revealing that gave me LOI 22d. The band is nho but I have heard the song. Solid cluing but the grid is the main event here. Thanks. PM
