Superb stuff, Chameleon - not that I'm biased or anything. My favourites were 9a (brilliant), 13a (very clever), 23a, 25a, 28a, 29a, 5d, 6d (knowing you that's no coincidence), 18d, 24d and 27d. Couldn't parse 16a but now I've read your notes I really like it. Spoilers in reply...

Excellent stuff! What an honour :)

What a charming puzzle - I was certainly charmed! Thanks for putting it together. Lots to like, but I'd single out 18d as a favourite, just followed by 24d...

A thumbs up from me too - really enjoyed it, challenging but mostly not too hard for me.

Magnificent work, Chameleon, and a really lovely thing to do. I saw all the upticks and comments coming in and realised it must be worth a look. I feel honoured to be included. Lots of favourites: 9A, 11A, 15A, 21A, 29A, 5D, 6D, 14D (obvs!), 17D and 18D - and that’s not including some brilliant clues that I couldn’t parse without the help of your notes. Thanks, Chamelon.

Nice one Chameleon - a puzzle that’s high on the fun factor. Lots of good stuff here, but to pick out some favourites: 9a, 21a, 29a, 3d/4d, 5d, 24d, 27d

This was a brilliant piece of work, and I honestly don't mind not getting a look in (especially as I completely missed the theme until Raider pointed it out!). Particular favourites 12a, 13/8/1, 16a, 27a, 29a, 6d, 10d, 17d, 18d, 20d. It says it all that of 28 clues no fewer than 20 get specific up-votes from one or more commenters. Thanks, Chameleon.

Thanks for the nice comments. I'm glad people enjoyed it. And sorry to those of you I couldn't fit into the grid!

Very clever. New to this community so didn't spot all the names but thought that 13A and 16A couldn't be a coincidence

Nice one! Good fun and a lovely idea.

Excellent stuff. Theming was delightful, and we enjoyed 28a and 3d/4d very much. 13a etc. - so clever. Well done Chameleon.
