Cryptic crossword No 2,416

Thanks Henri, that was great. My favourites were 9a, 25a, 4d, 5d, 10d, 17d (love the def.), 24d, and 30d. I failed with 1a (not familiar with def.) and 33a (still don't know the def.) I couldn't parse 20d & 22d. In other matters, I loved the 'Mini-Puzzle' message!

I made it after failing horribly on your last. Absolute fave for the definition was 22a, 17d was another definition that did my head in. 31,28 was another jump to the left, always fun when the penny drops. Loved finally understanding 16d (I got several without fully following your wordplay, which is a bit frustrating!)

Thanks Henri - excellent as always. Favourites for me were 1a, 4d, 7d, 17d, 22d, 24d, 31d and 33a. Some very clever definitions (eg 17d, as Gennaro has said) and deception particularly in 33a.

Good stuff Henri, thanks. Solved a while ago but have been busy on hols in Ireland so only just getting round to commenting. I’m another who was particularly taken with the definitions for 17d (which I twigged quickly) and 22a (which I had to get from the WP). They were my favourites, followed by 1a, 9a, 3d and 22d.
