7d seems a bit dodgy, or am I being particularly dim?

Haha, I enjoyed the pointed commentary you seamlessly included in so many clues — no. 1 was 28a, but upon reading them all again in your annotations after finishing, I spotted many more to enjoy —22a and 16d, along with the obvious 11a. 1d is also very clever (I needed crossers to get there). Thanks for a ray of light in dark times

Thanks for this, Skirwingle. I finally got around to it over the Easter weekend - but am hugely distracted by a new puppy - lovable and infuriating in equal measure - so am having to cope with 20 second windows of attention at the moment and am falling behind with comments. Some very nice surfaces in here and 22a is a delightful COTD. Thanks. PM
