Cryptic crossword No 2,359

Thanks for the puzzle Ouroboros, it's been a while since I tried one of yours but enjoyed the creativity on display here. I much preferred the neater, more succinct of your constructions, particularly 10a (nice), 20a (nice), 23a (satisfyingly tricksy), 2d (very neat), 4d (neat), 7d (fun) and 16d (neat)....

This was a bit of a workout, Ouroboros. I didn't solve 11a or parse 13a. Faves inc 21a, 22a, 23a, 5d, 7d (ha ha), 8d (I think), 12d and 18d. Thanks. PM

That was on the tougher side of average, but all doable after a little thought. Some nice clever clues such as the run of 20a, 21a and 22a, plus 4d, 7d and 16d. For reasons of residency 😁 I liked 13a and 15a, although I got both from definition and back-parsed, always a possibility for getting 15-letter answers to be fair. Thanks!
