Cryptic crossword No 233

Nice one Journeyman. I thought 10a was brilliant. Also liked 9a, 22a, 24a, 1d. If I were a crossword editor, I wouldn’t allow the trick you’ve used in 23d, but I did solve the clue so can’t complain really. A few other niggles, mainly questionable definitions, but generally good stuff.

Thanks Journeyman - lots to enjoy here. I liked 4A, 10A, 13A, 3D and 18D in particular. I found some of the indications rather indirect - no doubt Conto will pick up that point in his comments - but the constructions were generally very clever.
