Cryptic crossword No 2,270

Hi Eager, welcome to MyC. A decent first attempt with generally good surfaces. However, there are some details that could do with improvement, in the replies

I enjoyed this a lot ! Neat clueing that yielded to thought. 6d was LOI as it took me ages to spot part of the wordplay. thanks for posting!

I enjoyed this, and I echo Dyno in saying that if this is a first attempt it's a pretty good one. In particular your clues are concise and your surfaces are good. Favourites 13a, 3d, 8d, 15d a creditable near miss. Spoilery comments in reply.

Thanks EA1stD. 8d was my favourite. Nice surfaces and I finished it easily enough but I think the cryptic grammar police would be after you for some of the clues. More in reply.

Now that was fun, a nice mix of clues and a good level of difficulty for me. 1d was fun, I liked 22a and of course who doesn't love 7a (the drink!)?
