Very cleverly done, with neat use of a theme which isn't allowed to distort things. I can't work out how 19a works, I don't understand the italics in 12a, and I have a minor beef about 4d, but none of that detracts significantly from a lovely piece of work. Especial favourites 12a, 14a, 24a, 29a (given that I compiled a whole puzzle slagging the man off, I can't complain at you mentioning him in passing!), 2d, 3d, 7d, 9d, 15d, 20d. Some very good surfaces and some brilliant anagrams, too. Thanks

Thanks Skirwingle. I enjoyed this. 20d in particular is absolutely wonderful, and will live long in my memory…

A great puzzle, love the theme and well done for getting so many examples into the solutions and wordplay. Particularly liked 19a, 23a, 2d, 15d, 21d. Was “one” in 22a deliberate misdirection?

Very sneaky! I liked the use of 'one' as even after I'd twigged it the first time it misled me again. This did suffer from themo collapse after 2D fell into place. 12A was genius as I couldn't decide whether it was a clue or not until I had the crossers.

Late to the party here - but amazing work on the fill, as well as the themed cluing, and you still made some excellent surfaces. 20d superb, 2d my favourite, 29a and 10a brilliant too.
