Cryptic crossword No 2,206

Thanks Duncan. Neat clues. Favourites were 11a, 22a, 26a and 2d. I got stuck in the SE corner and resorted to word searches (see reply). As is so often the case, I couldn't see what the difficulty was afterwards!

A very enjoyable crossword which hit the sweet spot nicely (coming just after the Guardian's Saturday crossword having the idea of twelve - unidentified - answers having to be replaced by antonyms of the same length before insertion in the grid!). I'd noted 1a, 9a and 26a as favourites but then decided that it was easier to say that there wasn't really a clue I didn't like.

I enjoyed the ones I got wrong as much as those I figured out. All made good and clever sense, with 31a, 2d, and 6a a few of my favorites. Thanks!
