Cryptic crossword No 2,202

Very enjoyable, Ozpiper. What a genius pair of clues with 8d and (most especially) 12d. I also particularly liked 10a, 23a, and 6d. Very minor quibbles in my reply below, but overall a very successful return. Cheers!

Thanks. 12d was a good clue but might work better with a synonym rather than the word itself in the clue.

Thanks Ozpiper, I think your break was beneficial rather than making you rusty - this is a good set of clues! My favourites were 7a, 11a, 4d, 8d, 12d, and 16d. I needed your notes to parse 24a and 6d. More in reply.

Thanks Ozpiper, that was fun. A good mix of devices, my fave being 12d, and I also particularly enjoyed 10a (neat), 24a (satisfying assembly) and 18d (neat)
