Special Instructions: This is the first full grid I've ever produced, and it's massively increased my respect for setters! While I've spent a week cluing one word in contests, producing a full set of high quality clues is a different ball game. Please let me know how you think I've done - all comments would be much appreciated!

That was great. Really enjoyable and, happily, largely light. Ticks for 10a, 20a, 1d, 2d, 5d, 8d, 14d and 19d. Very minor squints/spoilers ...

If this is your first full grid, Avid, it is a hell of a start and way above anything I produced in my early efforts (many would say it still is!). Bravo! Ticks for 7a, 10a, 11a, 8d, 14d, 15d, with a lot of other 'very nearlys'. Spoilers...

Welcome, Avid! This was great, first puzzle or not. My favourites were 10a, 13a, 20a, 4d, 5d, 8d, and 14d. Minor points in reply...

It's taken me a couple of days to get to this, Avid, but I am very glad I gave it a go. Interesting to hear your SI observations about moving from the single clue comps to the full grid. Fun, though, innit? As was this first effort. Lots of ideas, generally pretty well executed. Some nice surfaces too. Faves include 10a, 13a, 18a, 5d, 6d (I agree the abbreviation works in this context - but not generally), 14d, 16d and 21d. Thanks. PM

Nice to see you here Avid, and well done on your first full grid - very enjoyable. 3d, 21d, and 13a (surface works for me!) probably my picks. Looking forward to seeing you again.

A very belated welcome (I was about to tackle your latest when I realised that I'd somehow missed your first!) and also thanks for a very accomplished debut puzzle 👍 Any minor comments I thought of during the solve have been comprehensively addressed by prior solvers. Some lovely clues, with special mention for 14d and 23a (I solved that one reasonably quickly and the quibble raised by others hadn't occurred to me, though I do see their point). I'm now looking forward to your 2nd 😁
