Some of this I found a bit unexciting, but each to their own. And there were one or two brilliant ones. 1ac and 13dn are clever and 2dn (which it took me ages to parse) and 3dn are very clever indeed.

11dn is a clue which, as someone commented on another thread, has been out there needing to be compiled! I thought 4dn was a bit clunky because unless I've missed something there is an entirely superfluous word in the clue.

The delightful 24ac called to mind a happy family memory. Six years ago Mrs Gollum received her professional doctorate and we have a nice picture of her in academic rig. But she spent much of the ceremony being beaten over the head by 2-y-o granddaughter with a giraffe soft toy!!

Thanks for this. I enjoyed solving it! You found some great anagrams, such as 9A and 11D. I think that Gollum is right about the superficial word in 4D. Hard to choose a favourite, but I really like 4D - a smooth surface and clever construction.

Thanks for this puzzle. I joined the site recently and am slowly working my way though the puzzles. I really liked 2d (when the penny finally dropped).

11d - an amazing clue!
