Cryptic crossword No 1,936

Thanks Dave for a great set of clues including 11a, 13a, 14a, 22a, 23a, 4d, 6d, and 19d. I missed the nho 24a (but I came close!) as well as 8d. I couldn't parse 10a without your notes. More in reply.

I’m a little late to this Dave, but worth the wait. Some chewy clues, but overall fair and nice misdirections in places. I particularly appreciated 9a, 11a, 13a, 14a, 18a, 2d, 4d(!), 6d, 23d among others. Had to do a bit of letter reveal in SW and NE corners to complete, but all good fun. I’d heard of 24a alright (and Gennaro being in the US!) but nho 27a, although the wordplay got me there. One minor comment in reply, spoilers…

Very good, thanks Dave. Full of wit and imagination with some really good clues. 13a stood out for me but I also really liked 14a (well spotted), 25a, 1d, 6d and 7d. Spoilers …
