Cryptic crossword No 1,908

Welcome to MyC, Shane, and well done on putting a puzzle out there. I must admit that this was far too difficult for me so I revealed most of the answers. I am struggling to understand how a number of the clues work. If you have provided annotations to explain the clues, there’s a setting (via the grey wheel) that you need to toggle to allow them to be shared.

Congratulations on putting out your first crossword, Shane. I saw some promise here but I had difficulty making sense of many of your clues.
