Cryptic crossword No 185

Hello, I'm new! This is the second crossword I've made (after one I made for my sister for her birthday, which doesn't fit any of the pre-made grids here and has a few personalised clues that wouldn't be quite fair for a general audience.) This one has a fairly obscure (I think) theme, but you don't need to see it. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks Newington and welcome! Lots to enjoy in this puzzle; particularly liked 9A (although some might object), 12A, 14A, 22A, 4D (new word for me but wordplay got me there) and 6D. Found top half a lot easier than bottom half, where I resorted to a few reveals. In my early puzzles I was criticised for making some clues too difficult, occasional lack of precision in the execution of the ideas and repetition of indicators. I spotted similar traits in a few places here - see reply for examples
