Cryptic crossword No 1,719

Thanks Median, that was fun! I particularly enjoyed 13a, 15a, 6d, 16d among others. A few stretch ones (e.g. 21a & 22a), but no real complaints. More please!

I was having a slow time of this until I finally reached the very kind 18D, which felt like the key to unlock the whole thing: I liked that feeling, especially with its late placement. 13A, 1d and 5d were my favourites. I do have a few quibbles here and there: if that kind of feedback is useful to you it's in the reply.
