Cryptic crossword No 1,631

Thanks Natrix, I enjoyed that! Particularly 11a, 18a, 22a, 3d, 14d, 19d among others. Some interesting and witty wordplay and a couple that defeated me, but offered a laugh/groan when reading the annotated solution. Some spoilery discussion in reply.
