Thanks popcorn, I enjoyed solving this. Lots of very concise clues, in particular I liked 1d, 5d, 14d and 19d. I have some reservations, spoilers below...

Hi Popcorn, I thought this was a nice puzzle, relatively easy to solve. Some good surface reading. Could perhaps do with a wider variety of clue types, eg hidden words. A few specific points: I couldn’t work out where ROH came from in 10ac. In 24ac, the definition is in the middle of the clue. In 3D, the solution and indicator are based on the same use of second. And in 13d, the two step anagram might be seen as a bit unfair by some. Hope that’s helpful. Myfanwy.

Thanks Popcorn, that was an enjoyable solve. I agree with the other comments. I also thought I spotted a few cases where synonyms were a little loose or in different parts of speech: seconded in 3D, adhesive in 4D , greet in 10A and class in 25A for example. The solutions were generally fairly clear, though, so these quibbles didn’t get in the way too much. Favourites were 15A, 17A, 22A and 12D. Thanks again.

Thanks Popcorn. An enjoyable puzzle, with some very neat clues - 22a, 5d, 12d are sound and very concise with good surfaces. I have the beefs others have mentioned about 23a and 24a (definition not at the beginning or the end) and 14d and 21d (indirect anagrams). I’d go further than Meles. Avoid. I agree with Meles that the GK required for 10a is probably too obscure.. 1d is indeed neat but is unsound, and I’m bothered by the definitions in two others [SPOILERS IN REPLY]
