Cryptic crossword No 1,482

Thanks Matrix, a good workout there. Some difficulties because of clever misdirection, but in other places I found the wordplay to be quite tricky. Might be me a bit out of practice, but like others I find that the most satisfying clues are those concise elegant ones. I particularly appreciated 15a, 24a, 25a, 6d & 17d. Spoilers in reply...
