Cryptic crossword No 139

Thanks, I think this is excellent Laguna. I found it difficult and needed a fair few reveals but having looked through the annotations I think that says more about me than the puzzle. Too many good clues to list but top favourite has to be 17A.

Thanks Laguna, this was fun. I found a couple of the tricksy definitions a bit tough (1d, 7d) but all fair. I particularly liked 14a, 26a, 13d and 16d. Spoilers below...

Thanks Laguna! I am familiar with 24a (especially 9a and 10a…) so this was a very enjoyable experience for me. I enjoyed the surface allusions to the theme that I recognised, and also liked the nod to another Canadian in 10a. Even though it’s a no-no, I really liked the def in 11a. My other favourites are 12a, 14a, 23a.

Working my way through this but just wanted to say 5d! 👏 😂
