Thanks Jaspa. Mostly a smooth solve, but I found the SE corner held me up a bit and didn't immediately parse 21a. My favourite was probably 26d, with 12a also nice. And I liked the devices you used in 9a, 20d and 22d.

While I am oddly psyched out by separated solutions, I must've been on your wavelength as I'd rate this a typical difficulty for you based purely on time to solve. Perhaps slightly fewer clues than your usual puzzle? I really enjoyed this, Jaspa, with some lovely LOL moments and cute misdirections. A long list of likes included 9a,10a, 28a, 2d, 16a/1d, 18d, 22d, 26d. 12a in the sense used was an NHO, but I got it from crossers and 19d was another, but I had to reveal this to confirm. A couple of queries .... SPOILERS
