Cryptic crossword No 1,251

Thanks Jaspa, a good workout there with some very clever cluing. I particularly enjoyed 1a (brilliant!), 6a, 10a, 12a, 17a, 20a, 4d, 7d & 22d. A few others not so neat, but overall fair and very enjoyable. Spoilers in reply for minor queries.

Nice one, Jaspa… or should I say Henspa? For me, the top half was more Jaspa than Henri, and the bottom half vice versa. Favourites: 10a, 12a, 17a (very good version of familiar idea), 1d, 5d, 8d and 22d. Spoilers…

Nice and straightforward as per, Jaspri, with only the ambiguous reversal noted by Coot to hold me up and that went in once I had crossers. Personally I'm also of the view that such devices ought to stand alone - but daresay I have sinned myself in that regard 😉. Favourites include 20a, 25a, 2d, 5d and 8d. Thanks. PM

Thanks Jaspa, fairly gentle, which is what I was looking for on a rainy Saturday! I loved the batty aristocrat in 20a, the band in 19a, and 2d especially.
