Cryptic crossword No 1,237

It would have been churlish not to return the compliment, Twmbarlwm, and I'm delighted to have finished this. Though there is one - my LOI - I have not parsed though I have an idea. Do you have Annotations? This turned out to be more approachable than it first appeared: very clear cluing helped. Faves include 3a, 13a, 23a, 25a, 7d, 8d, 9d and 16d. Spoilers in Reply. Thanks. PM

Good fun, Twmbarlwm, thanks. I breezed through the first 60% or so and then struggled with the rest, ultimately defeated by 26a. A couple of NHOs in the WP for 1a and 1d. Lots of excellent cluing as always. My favourites were 14a, 25a, 4d, 7d and 17d. Spoiler...
