Cryptic crossword No 1,071

Hi Samsa. I was not far into this - 6d - before noticing a word in the clue and thinking, 'that rings a bell' and spotting the neat theme. Takes me back. Nicely incorporated. Favourites include 6d, 15d, 28d, 6d, 19d and 23d. Query in Reply. Thanks. PM

Thanks for that Samsa, a really lovely surface theme and a cracking puzzle. I particularly liked 6a (neat), 9a (nice assembly, cool def), 11a (neat), 14a (neat, cool def), 15a (clean), 23a (fun), 27a (fun), 29a (cool surface), 6d (very nice), 13d (smooth assembly), 16d (fun surface), 19d (nice) and 25d (very neat) - good stuff!
