Thanks PianoMan, and welcome to MyC! I found lots to like here, lots of concise clues with good wordplay and a decent variety of clue types. Particular favourites were 9a, 17a, 22a and 23d. More specific comments below.

Thanks Piano Man for a good debut. I couldn't solve everything - I revealed 1d, 3d, and 25a. My top picks were 9a, 17a, 12d, 20d, and 23d. Meles & others have given you some very valuable feedback. I would suggest using clueclinic.com & the Chambers Dictionary app if you don't already - they're quite helpful.
